<br />
<div align="center">
<span _fck_bookmark="1" style="display: none;"><span style="background-color: black; color: cyan;"> GoodG</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span><span>Good Morning! </span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span><span>I have been working on my next product the 'Full Butted' OSFM Nappy which will be released very soon both with Minky and with PUL outers. I thought I better discuss the key differences of the two</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span><span>In the beginning when I first started drafting my pattern 3 years ago I wanted a nappy that was trim through the crotch, side snapping OSFM and an AI2. It evolved to include no rise adjuster snaps. The main thing for me was that it needed to be trim, really trim. I didn't like how most OSFM nappies were wide in the crotch and I tried a lot of nappies back in the day. </span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VSsGexw0N8o/UCrFx5YMJwI/AAAAAAAAAUE/8btcFbX60Gc/s1600/CIMG0767.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VSsGexw0N8o/UCrFx5YMJwI/AAAAAAAAAUE/8btcFbX60Gc/s320/CIMG0767.JPG" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span><span>The difference with my nappies compared with other nappies on the market that have rise adjuster snaps is that they adjust in the waist snaps and grows with your child. <strong><span style="color: #c27ba0;">When placing the nappy under the child at nappy change time, place the nappy to where you want it at the back. Then snap close making sure its a snug fit.</span> </strong>You can make the rise longer for older bubs by placing the nappy further back - and adjust the snap position on the wings making it grow with your child.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span><span>They can fit from approximately 5kgs to 17kgs. They are deceptively small but have been tested on big bubbas and can fit up to 17kgs. The many layers of bamboo can hold the biggest wee and are great for long naps. They have been tested with pooplosions for little bubs right through to the more solid poos for the older bubs. As with <strong>all </strong>nappies the occasional leakage can happen as we are of course talking about bubs and poo here, however it has been tested extensively and I haven't heard of one leak when fitted correctly. This includes my nearly 1 year old son who up until very recently used to go every 3, 4, 5 or every 6 days and had pooplosions every time - I just made sure the nappy was a snug fit.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span><span>Some testimonials:</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span><span>"Your trim design is one of the trimmest I have ever seen. At first I thought the nappy was too small but after the demonstration I have now mastered it for my master 3 year old and I love it. It doesnt seem like he is wearing a 'huge' cloth nappy at all"</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span><span>"Your nappies are definitely my favourite (and I've tried a lot!). Plus the custom ones I got are just sensational"</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: cyan;"><span><span></span></span></span><span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span><span>If you want a trim nappy that last from 5kgs to 17kgs this is the one for you.</span></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-32fumuymTmg/UCrODqyfMjI/AAAAAAAAAUg/uUKHojTDBLI/s1600/429932_387453964604013_1891520197_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-32fumuymTmg/UCrODqyfMjI/AAAAAAAAAUg/uUKHojTDBLI/s320/429932_387453964604013_1891520197_n.jpg" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span><span><span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">However this 'trim' design may not suit the fuller bottomed bub so I have been working behind the scenes to be a shop that can cater for all. With wetbags, bio liners, cloth wipes and much more! </span><a href="http://www.niftynaps.com.au/"><span style="background-color: black; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><span style="color: magenta;">www.niftynaps.com.au</span></span></a><span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> </span></span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: black; color: cyan; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The fuller bottomed nappies will be exactly the same but a little larger around the bum! They will still be AI2's that have no rise adjuster snaps on the front. I will post pictures in the next blog so keep an eye out.</span></div>

could but it is one item I view as a must and it definitely makes clean up a

</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;">A fork in the road………………….</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;">Which way to go?</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;">For those of you who have followed my journey you would know my dream is to be able to stay at home with my children as much as possible…..</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;">Nifty Naps is getting too big for little old me and it takes me away from my children, which negates the reason for starting Nifty Naps in the first place. I really only see that I have two options, sell Nifty Naps or outsource a part of it.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;">I love supporting homemade but I just cannot physically do it anymore. I have been thinking long and hard about what to do. My son is nearly 3 years old and although my blog is nearly 2 years old I started sewing and testing behind the scenes before he was even crawling. I have spent a long time developing my pattern (with some more in the woodwork) to give it all up.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;">I think you know where I am heading with this but would like to advise anyway. I wish to offer both: homemade items in the way of customs, including nappies, sets and clothes. Also, affordable nappies and nappy packs that have been made with my pattern elsewhere from a factory. This means I can purely focus on the customs and have more time for my 2 boys.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;">A date is yet to be confirmed but a new website will be released for this change. Thank you for supporting me. It has taken me many conversations with my husband and many sleepless nights. At one point I was going to sell Nifty Naps but I have poured too much blood (yes there has been blood), sweat (definitely alot of sweat) and many tears to give it all up.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;"><br />

<span style="color: #b6d7a8;"></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-M4zwbxyq2ow/TyS0fgz58UI/AAAAAAAAAQ4/K6tt5Rzo28Y/s1600/CIMG6977.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="color: #b6d7a8;"><img border="0" gda="true" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-M4zwbxyq2ow/TyS0fgz58UI/AAAAAAAAAQ4/K6tt5Rzo28Y/s320/CIMG6977.JPG" width="320" /></span></a></div><span style="color: #b6d7a8;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="color: #b6d7a8;">I hear it all the time, “I don’t like FOE” or, “I do not use FOE”. FOE or fold over elastic is the edging on the covers that I sell from the ArtistryCreates pattern. Now, I can totally understand why the one factor of pilling can make one to feel like they should stay away from FOE. As we all want our ‘stash’ to be in the best of condition, right? However, I believe the positive factors that these covers can bring to your cloth nappying system far outweigh this one negative ‘issue’ and I will show you how and why it isn’t really an issue. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b6d7a8;">A lot of people I know really would like to use Cloth nappies, however the start-up costs to cloth a bub full time in the beginning is seemingly high even though it is significantly less than using disposables. They estimate you can cloth nappy a bub for about $250 for a basic cloth nappy system which can then be used on other bubs including being sold 2nd hand to recoup costs. Sorry ladies ‘Embroidered Pretties’ costs a lot more than this unfortunately. They also estimate that it costs about $2,000 to use disposables for one child for a cheaper disposable brand – that’s $4,000 for two children and $6,000 for three children– no reusing here! These figures are taken from The Australian Nappy Network website: </span><br />
<span style="color: #b6d7a8;"><br />
</span><br />
<span style="color: #b6d7a8;">http://nappynetwork.org.au/sites/default/files/node/71/MCN_Brochure_General_v6.pdf. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b6d7a8;">Guess what, Nifty Nap covers can be used as part of this basic system if you wish to keep costs down, which is a big plus in my mind! For example: you really only need 2 or 3 covers per size (e.g, newborn, small, medium and large) if you wash every day or every other day as they do not need washing each time you change bubs. You can change the absorbent part at change time and reuse the same cover all day. Thus, from birth to toilet training you will only need between 8 or 12 covers all up – please visit my website for prices: </span><a href="http://constellationkids.com/store/2"><span style="color: #b6d7a8;">http://constellationkids.com/store/2</span></a><span style="color: #b6d7a8;">. They dry very quickly and in the Australian sun in summer they will dry in under an hour. Actually at home in the summer I sometimes forgo the cover and let bubs stay in a fitted nappy and thus less covers are required at my house thus saving me even more money. They are only really needed for naps and going out. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b6d7a8;">Some ladies I know wash the covers at each and every change time, this will make your covers look shabby faster – trust me ladies, less washing equals less pilling and did I mention less washing? They really do not need washing each time. Yep another great factor of using covers as part of your cloth nappying system – is less washing and less water used – great for your pocket and even better for the environment. The only time I wash covers is when the FOE has been touched by poo or if I have used it for a day. If you use a fitted or a prefold correctly then the chance of poo touching it is quite low – but if it does a backup cover is recommended just in case. Thus I recommend 3 covers for when they are little but when they are on solids and the poo is more formed I would recommend 2 covers. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b6d7a8;">Another way to keep your covers looking new is to not wash them in with other items that contain velcro, or if you have other covers or nappies that have velcro use a big bra bag. The times when I do wash my covers when they haven’t been touched by poo is the time I wash them in a bra bag. Otherwise all other velcro nappy shells are thrown into the bag. This isn’t too much work really – it is less work then AI2’s really as there are many more shells to contend with when using AI2’s. Washing cloth nappies in general isn’t too much work and is a common misconception – but that’s a whole other blog. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #b6d7a8;">So the pilling to me isn’t really an issue compared to the thousands of dollars you can save especially since the pilling is an aesthetic issue and it doesn’t affect the performance of a cover at all. Thus there is no need to be afraid of FOE. Thank you for reading. Susan </span><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">As you all know I am about to release in the new year the new 'Nifty Nap' with its smaller version 'Nifty Newborn Nap' to cater for children in cloth from newborn to toilet training. They will be sold seperately and also together as a 'Your Butts Covered' pack. </div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">The main nappy is a one size fits most (OSFM) nappy fitting from approximately 5kgs and is an all in two nappy (AI2). Which basically means the booster system (or the absorbent part) can be removed from the shell to help with drying. It actually would have been easier for me to make the nappy a pocket nappy so I could have 2 boosters one large and one small and you can change it to which ever way you would have prefer. However, I really wanted to make an AI2 nappy as I started making AI2's almost 2 and half years go and many of my likers prefer it. This wasnt an easy task as it meant that I needed a booster to cater for a 17kg heavy wetter and also for a 5kg bub. I also have boys and I found alot of AI2 nappies did not cover my oldest adequately and he also pee'd at the front. So I needed a system which covered these 'must haves' whilst not compromising the design of the nappy. It also needed to be trim. I also didnt want an OSFM nappy being too big in the crotch area for my youngest. After many many trials with my sons I have finally worked out a new booster system to work with the OSFM Nifty Nap, it covers all of my 'must haves' and I will show you today on how it works.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-je26sxVwmXA/Tu7gLRCD8VI/AAAAAAAAAPc/jUCLzLXWuqk/s1600/CIMG0128.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; cssfloat: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" oda="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-je26sxVwmXA/Tu7gLRCD8VI/AAAAAAAAAPc/jUCLzLXWuqk/s200/CIMG0128.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><br />
There are still two parts to the system and you may find that you may never need the smallest part. It really does help for the heaviest of wetters though. You can use the smaller booster folded in half at the front for the boys or laid out flat for an all over coverage. It is really up to you and how you use it. For the smaller bubs though you really do not need it. The main booster once snapped into the nappy has 8 layers of heavy duty bamboo so is highly absorbent for most babies.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6ul3EfN1EtU/Tu7iaLwWzXI/AAAAAAAAAPs/7PTzu55E8Cs/s1600/CIMG0129.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; cssfloat: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" oda="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6ul3EfN1EtU/Tu7iaLwWzXI/AAAAAAAAAPs/7PTzu55E8Cs/s200/CIMG0129.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>Once the main booster has been snapped into the shell the hourglass shaped booster is longer then the shell. This is deliberate. You can fold it to fit into the shell for the smaller bubs. Or you can keep it long for the older toddlers. The elastic stretches to cater for the older toddler and the booster provides adequate coverage for boys who pee at the front.<br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #6aa84f;">I am just letting you all know that all nappies that are made with microfleece inners from now on will now have different boosters! I was tired of the trifold boosters and now have changed my design. So keep an eye out as I will post pictures of it soon. All bamboo velour inners will remain as trifolds at this stage.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

Obviously they will be sold seperately too. The only thing stopping me is that I am technically on leave and I need the names and I have no idea what to call them! So get your thinking caps on as you only have 24 days left to the end of the competition. Please see previous blog on details. You can also email me the answers too for those who wish to do this also. You have a very high chance of winning as only a couple of entries so far. In a week or two I will make a list of all the entries on my blog so you can see.</span></div><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #b4a7d6;">Here is a picture of my bubba boy in the small Nifty Naps Nappy. This pattern fits from 2.5kgs and has been tested currently to 5kgs with snaps to spare and plenty of rise. My son in this picture is about 3.4kgs. I love the bib, which was a gift from a lady at work and I had the material here so I decided to make a matching nappy. Her gift is organic cotton though where as my cotton panel is normal cotton. I love it!</span></div><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #b4a7d6;">Introducing my youngest 8 day old bub in a Nifty Naps Newborn Nap - from 2.5kgs</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="color: #b4a7d6;">I understand that all bubs are different and I am still in the process of tweaking this pattern but I couldnt resist showing you a picture or two right? The green paisley print is from my pattern. Although the Newborn Nappy - from 2.5kgs is relatively new I am very happy with it. It has been adapted from the larger nappy that I have been testing for a very long time and is nearing the end of the testing..... </span></div><br />

<div align="center"><span style="color: #f9cb9c;">The below pictures are of my bub in the daribum pattern that I currently sell in the newborn size. As soon as I release my pattern I will no longer be making or selling from the daribum pattern except for special requests. </span></div><br />

<div align="center"><span style="color: #d5a6bd;">Competition Time!</span></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><span style="color: #d5a6bd;">I need a name? Yes a name for my 2 nappy system/pack from birth to toilet training. Ideally I would like something to tie in with the name Nifty Naps. I also want it so its obvious that there are 2 nappies from birth to toilet training. One for newborn to small and the other nappy from small to extra large. Also, what do I call them individually (like size newborn and size large for when I do sell them seperately - I prefer not to call them newborn or large and I do not like size 1 or size 2 either. I am not asking much am I? Thank you very much for your help.</span></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><span style="color: #d5a6bd;">I will let this run for a while (until I tweak the newborn/small nappy pattern which shouldnt take long as I want something to work for my newborn son now (well from this weekend) and the winner will win a birth to toilet training pack (which will include the 2 nappies with your choice of minky and embroidery for both nappies - no cotton panels). </span></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><span style="color: #d5a6bd;">So get your thinking caps on and please comment below with your answers and leave a contact email. You can enter many times as you want. </span></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><span style="color: #d5a6bd;">I will notify the winner on <strong><u>November the 30th</u></strong> to arrange the prize (also to give me time to tweak the newborn/small size and to work out the kgs).</span></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><span style="color: #d5a6bd;">Thank you!</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #f9cb9c;">The picture is of my closest friend's son when he was just over 1 with my work in progress pattern - it has changed since then (the larger size) but isnt he adorable? <br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffe599;">Tester Nappies!</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffe599;">These two are off to their new homes today (I also made another for belly babe too). I really want these to fit from 2.5kgs or 3kgs and thus I am taking it with me to the hospital to test. My bub will be apparently about 3kgs when he becomes earthside and I hope it will then last to about 7kgs or so - of course depending on the bubs shape and then my other size will then be to toilet training. The other size was a OSFM (One Size Fits Most) work in progress for such a long time but I found it didnt fit my son who is about 16kgs if I made it for the smaller bubs too thus I changed it so that it now fits my son and I am confident it will last until he toilet trains as he now has extra snaps. I have had reports that it fits from about 6 months or so but not with little bubs thus the 2 sizes. Right now my son barely fits into other large nappies due to his chunky thighs. I may ask a couple more people to test how long they last in terms of kgs once I am out of hospital and have time to make a couple more just to be thorough. I will also take pictures of my oldest son when I get out too.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ffe599;">Thank you!</span></div>SusanKPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12631567376607608533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3869401966779187639.post-79680831606195766362011-09-26T03:47:00.000-07:002011-09-26T03:55:29.807-07:00An update from me!!!<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Good Evening All,</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I know its been awhile but now because I am not working my other job I will update this blog more often. Some of you are aware but for those who do not I am pregnant with my second son. He is due late this month</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;">I am now selling my items on </span><a href="http://www.constellationkids.com/"><span style="color: #9fc5e8;">www.constellationkids.com</span></a></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #9fc5e8; font-family: Trebuchet MS;">We are 4 WAHMS (Working at home Mothers) - who came together to sell on the same site. I am really excited about it and love for you to check out the other ladies who sell there too. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="center"><span style="color: #d5a6bd; font-family: Trebuchet MS;">I am still testing my pattern for the OSFM and I am not happy with the fit on a newborn bub. If I make it so it fits my oldest who is 16kgs nearly then its massive on a newborn. I really am trying to make it so that there are no rise adjuster snaps so basically I have made 2 sizes! One from newborn and one from a little bigger. The weights are being tested right now. I actually have the newborn one in my hospital bag to put on belly babe sop stay tuned for newborn baby pics. Apparently my belly babe will be about 3kgs when he is born (in a few days time......eeek). My oldest son has the larger size which I am very happy with and would release it right now as many people have now tested it but I am waiting to see how many kg's it will go to with him (he is nearly 16kgs now). I also want to release both sizes at the same time. </span><br />
<span style="color: #d5a6bd; font-family: Trebuchet MS;"></span><br />
</div><div align="center"><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS;"><span style="color: #cc0000;">I also promised a givaway at 600 fans on my facebook page - </span><a href="https://www.facebook.com/NiftyNaps"><span style="color: #cc0000;">https://www.facebook.com/NiftyNaps</span></a></span></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><span style="color: #e06666; font-family: Trebuchet MS;"> I am well and truely past 600 so please wait a little more as I will think of a way to have a fun giveaway while I am in hospital. </span></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><span style="color: #6aa84f; font-family: Trebuchet MS;">I also have a new embroidery machine (well new to me but its really 2nd hand). I cannot wait to use it and will be apart of Nifty Naps so stay tuned.</span></div><div align="center"><br />

<br />
I have decided to start blogging again as its nearly been a year since I did it last. I have come along way since my last blog. Since my last blog I have accomplished the following things:<br />
<br />
I have nearly finished my pattern of a OSFM (one size fits most) Nappy - which will now be a pocket nappy. It may have to be from 4kgs and up though but still working on snap placement for the rise (if I need them) and also the booster system. I was an AI2 but I have decided that it will be better to be a pocket nappy so people can really have a true personal adjustment to suit their bub. <br />
<br />
I sell many things now (both on facebook and at my store located at MiniCUTEture). That range from Nappy Covers from the Artistry Creates pattern. I do not sell the Dipes and Doublers as they did not seem to work in this market but instead sell prefolds. I sell AI2's from the Daribums pattern. I sell nursing covers, nappy free time mats, breast pads, blankies, and wipes ...<br />
<br />
I also sell a couple items at wholesale rates if bought in bulk from online stores.<br />
<br />
Also, I attend many markets too so really I have come along way and I am quite proud.<br />
<br />
I also have Nappy Parties too (like Tupperware parties but with cloth nappies). The hostest gets discounts too!<br />
<br />
It used to take me 8 hours to make a nappy from start to scratch but now it takes me 1 and a half hours. I guess practice does pay off! I also had help from sewing classes, TAFE, and friends.<br />
<br />
<br />
I will start to link some pictures soon and change to my new logo :)<br />
<br />
Also, when Nifty Naps on facebook reach 600 fans there will be a giveaway! I will post details soon :)<br />
<br />
Thank you for following me on my journey.<br />

Before I had Mitchell this is where the dining table sat and the other corners used to have a lounge with a coffe table and a lazyboy and a cheese board etc. All with very hard wood with corners so we got rid of it so that Mitchell would not hurt himself. Right now the other part of the room has a bunch of stuff that I want to sell on Ebay eventually and then I can use the money to buy me a cutting table. Eventually the whole room will be mine. I will make sure it will be mine. The best part about this room is that Mitchell cannot get into it. I have a baby gate to the entryway. So now I do not need to stress about dropped pins and needles.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I am so excited. I am now selling Dipes and Doublers from the ArtistryCreates pattern. I tried so hard to make it a OSFM that can be used for day and night but it just did not work in terms of drying time. So I made a Daytime Dipe and Doubler set and I am thinking about making a Night-time Dipe and doubler set. I also had a brainwave with my own design so stay tuned.....SusanKPhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12631567376607608533noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3869401966779187639.post-74907007810481970132010-06-14T22:34:00.000-07:002010-06-14T22:34:12.919-07:00I am now selling Covers!! Today I woke up at 6am (when my husband got up for work) and I couldnt sleep. I had an urge....<br />
<br />
A very strong urge to sew a cloth nappy on my overlocker. I did not want to make a fitted I wanted to make and All in 2. Basically a nappy that can seperate in two parts for ease of drying. Well here it is. Also I did not do the embroidery, the minky nappy cut came from Miss E. Thank you very much hun....mwah xxx<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The other day I was thinking I wish I could overlock a AI2 (All in 2 nappy) and went on a hunt for tutes on the internet and the only way you can do the elastic is a sewing it blind. I could not find any other way. I had a nappy pattern here called the Little Comets Tail. At 6am I was in no mood to trace the actual nappy template from the pattern so I used the large cover template from the Artistry creates pattern as I use this often. It was very similar to the side snap of the Little Comets Tail so I then traced the snaps and elastic etc onto the minky etc (you may see the washable blue pen in the pictures). I then just followed the Little Comets Tail instructions to overlock my nappy. I did not use the pattern for the trifold. I just made a trifold as I have had made a few already to replinish my stash. It took about 4 hours. My first ever nappy from start to finish took about 8 hours and it was only a pocket without the insert. So pretty happy with the amount of time it took me. Usually I do a production line up, I cut a heap of nappy cuts, then cut the nappies, then sew then etc so I usuallyy make several at the same time which is quicker but I was on a mission to make a completed nappy today. Please note this is only for personal use only. I will not sell this if you are wondering why I changed the patterns willy nilly. It was more about making a nappy by overlocking.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Also, I need to practice my overlocking as it was a bit funny in places. I am having lessons soon :)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I spent the last few days cutting and sewing Dipes (Naps) from the ArtistryCreates Pattern. I have made them with different materials and the amount of material and have noted it down as the below will be given away to test the absorbancy versus the drying time factor, as well as my sewing skills and anything else that the testers wish to say. Once I know then I will make my Dipes (Naps) all the same. Of course I can always change the absorbancy if customers request a certain amount. I am getting excited about this. <br />
<br />
Unfortunately my camera takes bad photos at night and it rather the natural light for some reason so might upload better photos tomorrow. Also the pattern for the doubler (the extra night-time/nap booster) says to zigzag stitch around the edge and to cut closely to the edge. I have seen some breastpads like this but I have emailed the lady who owns the pattern to ask if I can turn and topstitch instead until I get my overlocker. I have hinted many times to my husband to give me one for Mothers day so fingers cross. The dyed doubler has the zigzag stitch and the other two I have turned and topstitch.<br />
<br />
The dyed 'Dipes' are made entirely out of bamboo. The others are a combination of bamboo and flannel or bamboo, sherpa and flannel.<br />

</div>For the last two days I have been sewing blocks for a quilt block swap. The idea is that 9 people sew 9 blocks and then swap with everyone and then you end up having blocks from across Australia and then you sew the blocks together to get a unique quilt.
